Local Flower Arranging workshop with Ceres Botanical: Learn the art of floral arranging and composition with Virginia flowers and botanicals. Leave with a beautiful garden-inspired centerpiece. In this 1.5-hour floral workshop, you will explore various flowers and their characteristics. Then, choose, cut, and arrange blooms and stems to create a unique centerpiece-style arrangement, using a foam-free technique. We will provide the vessel, stems, and a complimentary refreshments. This class is excellent for beginners and will impart a basic understanding of floral design principles and techniques.

Instructor: June Mena is a floral designer who founded Ceres Botanical, a Richmond-based design studio focused on highlighting local flowers in the creation of custom arrangements. She began her floral career as a grower, working on Prospect Hill Flower Farm, near Richmond, VA. After growing and designing bouquets for the farmer’s market, she found she was drawn to creating unique table centerpieces. She currently designs for local restaurants, weddings, and other events, utilizing sustainable design principles and a naturalistic, lush style.
